The other 15% is treated with boric acid, borax, or ammonium sulfate. This helps keep pests out and can be an effective flame retardant. Our Cellulose is installed blown-in, where densely packed bales of Cellulose are fed into an insulation blower, allowing it to be blown into the attic or walls.
